Spraying Safety

Pesticide like medicine and other chemicals must be stored and used according to instructions, so the first requirement for all users of pesticides is to READ THE LABEL.

Pesticides have an ability to cause damage through skin (dermal), lungs and oral intake hence wear protective clothing including boots , gloves and eye protection when spraying.

Magnitude of risk is a function of two factors, exposure and toxicity .The mathematical expression is as under:

HAZARD = EXPOSURE X TOXICITY.

The greater the exposure of toxic ingredients the greater the risk.

NEVER EAT, DRINK OR SMOKE when mixing or applying pesticides.

Check the sprayer for leaks, calibrate with water and ensure it is in proper working condition.

Clean the sprayer with water before storing both from inside as well as outside.

Wash all the exposed parts of your body after the SPRAY of pesticides.

Spraying operations is best on a calm day. Otherwise, winds may blow spray material off target. Early morning or late afternoon is ideal time to spray , so excessive heat won't quickly evaporate the spray material.

Follow the directions for use and maintenance that come with your SPRAYER

Dispose off left over spray material and clean your applicator according to the directions for disposal.

Keep spray materials and THE SPRAYER away from children and pets.

Do not store spray materials in any other container like water/beer bottles but the original container in which they were purchased.
